Pascaline Sefawe has resigned as acting chief executive officer of the Botswana Housing Corporation to pursue new opportunities.
Sefawe first served as acting CEO from July 2021, before handing over to substantive CEO Nkaelang Matenge in November 2023. She returned to the acting role after Matenge’s departure in late October 2025.

The board has appointed Sekgele Daniel Ramahobo, previously director of human capital and administration, as the new acting CEO to ensure continuity in operations.
The Botswana Housing Corporation faces ongoing pressure to address the country’s housing deficit, with estimates showing around 40 per cent of households in inadequate conditions and a persistent shortage of serviced land contributing to high costs relative to incomes.
BHC’s long-term strategy for 2025-2030 targets expanded delivery of affordable units, building on efforts like the Bonno National Housing Programme, which has thousands of homes under construction despite challenges such as land availability and rising construction expenses.
This leadership change occurs amid a softening residential market in early 2025, where average sale prices declined slightly while demand remains strong for lower- to middle-income segments, underscoring the corporation’s role in tackling affordability issues across urban and rural areas.
