The Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (Sedfa), a key development finance institution, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This role involves merging the expertise of the Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) and Co-Operative Banks Development Agency (CBDA), with Sedfa listed as a Schedule 3B National Government Business Enterprise under the Department of Small Business Development.

The CEO will serve a fixed-term contract of five years in Pretoria, reporting to the Board Chairperson, with a negotiable salary.

The CEO’s primary responsibility is to provide visionary and strategic leadership, ensuring the formulation and execution of Sedfa’s corporate strategy. This includes overseeing long-term objectives, policies, budgets, and corporate operational roles to strengthen South Africa’s economic policy landscape. The CEO will drive transformative outcomes aligned with national development priorities, focusing on support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Candidates require a Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field, with 15 years of experience, including 8 years in executive management within financial sectors.

Applications must be submitted by 5 September 2025 to recruitmentCEO@sedfa.org.za. Sedfa promotes equity and diversity, verifying candidates’ credentials, with full details available on www.sedfa.org.za.
