Sony has unveiled the latest addition to its flagship 1000X range, introducing the new WF-1000XM6 true wireless earbuds alongside a Sand Pink edition of the WH-1000XM6 over-ear headphones.
The WF-1000XM6 builds on its predecessor with stronger noise cancellation, clearer calls and improved connectivity. Powered by Sony’s upgraded HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3e and Integrated Processor V2, the earbuds use four microphones and adaptive optimisation technology to adjust in real time to both environmental noise and fit. The result is noticeably better suppression of mid-to-high frequency sounds commonly experienced in traffic, cafés and public transport.

Sound quality has also been refined. A newly engineered driver unit, enhanced DAC performance and 32-bit processing deliver richer detail and deeper bass, while features such as Hi-Res Audio Wireless and custom EQ settings offer greater personalisation.
The earbuds are slimmer and more ergonomic, with redesigned tips for improved comfort and isolation. Battery life reaches up to eight hours per charge, extending to 24 hours with the case.
In South Africa, the WF-1000XM6 will retail at R7,999, while the Sand Pink WH-1000XM6 is priced at R10,999, available from 3 April 2026.
