Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) is excited to unveil the Toyota Hiace PWD (Persons with Disabilities) model, a people-mover designed with accessibility as a top priority. This launch aligns with Toyota’s global vision of evolving into a comprehensive mobility solutions company.

The Hiace Ses’fikile has been thoughtfully reimagined to include a variant specifically for individuals with disabilities. The Hiace PWD is equipped with an automated rear ramp, ensuring that wheelchair access is easy and hassle-free. For Toyota, mobility transcends transportation; it embodies freedom, opportunity, and the joy of shared experiences. The Hiace PWD eliminates barriers, allowing every passenger to travel with dignity and inclusivity.

Based on the reliable 16-seater Hiace, the PWD model has been modified to achieve a perfect blend of comfort and practicality. It includes three rows of original Hiace seats for nine passengers, while the wheelchair is securely positioned at the rear, akin to a fourth row, ensuring comfort for its occupant.

Safety and convenience are key features of this model. The wheelchair bay is equipped with front and rear restraints for added stability, and a robust ramp extension facilitates easy boarding and disembarking. When not in use, the ramp neatly folds away, maintaining the spacious interior of the vehicle.

Staying true to the Hiace tradition, this model is both dependable and durable. It is powered by a proven 2.7-litre naturally aspirated engine, offering a blend of strength and efficiency. Available exclusively in Ivory White with a dark grey interior, the Hiace PWD boasts a clean, practical design that reflects its purpose-driven ethos.

According to Tasneem Lorgat, General Manager of Marketing Communications, this introduction underscores TSAM’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive transport landscape. The Hiace PWD is not merely a vehicle; it represents a promise to enhance mobility access for all.

This model offers families, schools, and transport operators a chance to make every journey more inclusive, comfortable, and human-centric. The Toyota Hiace PWD will be available on a Customer Order Only basis at R761,713, ensuring that each vehicle is tailored to meet the specific needs of its passengers.

Every Hiace PWD comes standard with a 90,000 km service plan (covering nine services) and a 3-year/100,000 km warranty, with flexible extension options available through Toyota’s extensive national dealer network. When everyone can move freely, we all progress together.
