Ford celebrates the production of its one-millionth Ranger at the Silverton Manufacturing Plant, marking 24 years of continuous innovation and success.

Global Reach: If lined up bumper-to-bumper, these one million Rangers would stretch 5,300 km, all the way from South Africa to Egypt’s southern border.

Generational Evolution: Spanning three generations, the Ranger has evolved significantly since 2000, with each model introducing new levels of performance, comfort, and technology.

Economic Impact: The Silverton and Struandale plants support around 60,000 jobs, contributing significantly to local communities and the national economy.

Innovation Hub: The launch of the third-generation Ranger saw a massive investment in the Silverton plant, including a new Stamping Plant, Chassis Plant, and a state-of-the-art Body Shop.

Award-Winning Legacy: The Ranger has garnered numerous accolades, including the International Pick-up Award (2013, 2020, 2023), South African Car of the Year (2023), and AutoTrader’s Used Car of the Year (2024).

Future-Ready: Ford continues to invest in its local operations, with the announcement of the Ranger Plug-in Hybrid EV, ensuring the brand remains at the forefront of innovation and sustainability.
