Mercedes-Benz is officially raising the standards of the compact luxury segment with the market introduction of the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA 200. Arriving at authorised retailers on Friday, 12 June, the new CLA 200 offers more to customers in every single dimension, delivering significantly more space, more refinement, more comfort, more intelligence, and more efficiency compared to its predecessor. The CLA 200 serves as the brilliant gateway into a completely new, ground-up family of vehicles. Built on a highly flexible modular architecture.

A Master Class in Design and Aerodynamics

The exterior design of the all-new CLA 200 is a masterclass in athletic elegance, defined by classic GT proportions that feature a long wheelbase, short body overhangs, and a sleek, low greenhouse. Its sculptural, muscular shoulders flow from the front wheel arches across the flanks, creating a striking interplay of light and shadow along the body panels.

The prominent, sporty A-shape front fascia of the CLA 200 features a classic, premium chrome star-pattern grille framed by an elegant LED lightguide. Both the MULTIBEAM LED headlights and the rear taillights form the sharp silhouette of the iconic Mercedes-Benz star, connected across the car’s body by crisp bands of light. A massive, single-piece panoramic glass roof is standard on all models, sweeping from the windscreen to the rear glass without a central brace, and coated with an advanced infrared and low-emissivity film to reject outside heat.

    Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 With Mild-Hybrid Technology

The CLA 200 with Hybrid Technology features a modern 48-volt system that blends a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a highly integrated electric motor nested directly inside the new eight-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission. This setup delivers a robust 120 kW of peak power and 250 Nm of torque to the front wheels, moving from 0–100 km/h in a swift 8.0 seconds. This integration allows the vehicle to seamlessly return a remarkably low combined fuel consumption of just 5.4 litres per 100 kilometres.

    Athletic Luxury and Refined Comfort

The interior of the all-new CLA 200 introduces a minimalist, tech-driven reinterpretation of modern luxury, shifting the cabin focus toward a few beautifully executed high-tech elements. The definitive centrepiece is the free-standing MBUX Superscreen, a dramatic expanse of glass spanning the dashboard that seamlessly integrates a 10.25-inch driver display with a high-resolution 14-inch central touchscreen powered by real-time graphics.

Positioned high to cultivate an athletic, cockpit-like environment, a multi-tier floating centre console structures the front cabin, incorporating an expansive three-dimensional trim surface alongside integrated cup holders and a wireless smartphone charging cradle. This floating design language carries into the doors, where large, premium door centre panels wrap fluidly around tubular, sculptured grab handles. Bathed in natural light from the standard-fit, single-piece panoramic glass roof, the space feels exceptionally open and generous, offering improved headroom over its predecessor and showcasing premium materials like the technical black and clean white pearl sports upholstery.

MB.OS: The Most Intelligent Mercedes-Benz Ever Made

The CLA 200 is the first production model to rely entirely on the proprietary Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS). Backed by a high-performance supercomputer and real-time graphics from the Unity Game Engine, it introduces a hyper-personalized digital environment that receives seamless over-the-air updates to keep the vehicle permanently up to date.

This system initiates the fourth generation of MBUX, serving as the first in-car infotainment system to combine generative AI agents from both Microsoft and Google. Powered by ChatGPT-4o and Microsoft Bing, the MBUX Virtual Assistant – manifested as a “living” 3D avatar star on the screen – engages in complex, multi-turn dialogues, remembers short-term context, and reads driver emotions to adjust its responses. Integrating Google Gemini, the assistant utilises the Google Maps platform to answer complex navigation questions and search points of interest. This layout feeds directly into MBUX Surround Navigation, which merges real-time driving-assistance views with a stunning 3D representation of the car’s physical surroundings directly on the driver display to improve overall situational awareness.

The all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 arrives in showrooms on Friday, 12 June. For localized pricing, test drive bookings, and full option lists, please contact your nearest authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership.
