The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) is pleased to welcome the listing of the Oribi South Africa Top 30 Index Prescient Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) on the Main Board of the JSE. Trading under the share code ORBT30, the ETF provides investors with a simple and transparent way to access a portfolio of South Africa’s leading listed companies through a single investment. The listing further expands the range of exchange traded products available to investors on the JSE and reinforces the exchange’s commitment to broadening investment choice and enhancing access to South Africa’s capital markets.

The fund is designed to track the performance of the Merqube South Africa Top 30 Index through a passive, full-replication investment approach. The portfolio aims to mirror the composition and weightings of the underlying index as closely as possible, providing investors with efficient and transparent exposure to its constituent companies.

“With the listing of the SA Top 30 ETF we aim to give investors concentrated exposure to the best primary listed South African companies. These companies are the largest in their respective sectors and will allow investors of all types to own the top 10 in each of the main categories of resources, financials and diversified. We’re excited to offer this new concept to the South African market, with a hope that companies born and bred locally will continue to deliver on the potential of South Africa,” said Lionel Walker, Oribi Capital Partners’ CEO.

The listing comes at a time when investors are increasingly seeking transparent and cost-effective investment solutions that provide broad market exposure. ETFs continue to play an important role in expanding access to capital markets, enabling investors to participate in long-term wealth creation through diversified portfolios and clearly defined investment strategies.

As South Africa’s capital markets continue to evolve, ETFs remain an important vehicle for investors seeking convenient access to diversified portfolios, liquidity and transparent investment outcomes. The continued growth and diversification of the ETF landscape reflects increasing demand for investment products that combine accessibility, efficiency and robust governance standards.

Sam Mokorosi, Head: Origination and Deals at the JSE, said: “The continued growth of the ETF market reflects investors’ increasing demand for transparent, cost-effective and accessible investment solutions. We are pleased to welcome the Oribi South Africa Top 30 Index Prescient ETF to the JSE and to further broaden the range of products available to investors seeking exposure to South Africa’s leading listed companies. This listing reinforces the JSE’s commitment to supporting innovation, expanding investment choice and strengthening South Africa’s capital markets.”
