William Mzimba, who has helped to grow Vodacom’s enterprise business over the past five years, will retire from the company at the end of September.

    1. Vodacom’s enterprise business has become an area of growth for the company due to businesses moving their operations online.
    2. Vodacom has yet to announce a successor to Mzimba.
    3. Mzimba’s departure comes at a time when Vodacom has been investing heavily in its network and infrastructure to expand its business offerings.
    4. Vodacom recently announced a R500 million ($34 million) network investment for the Eastern Cape region to improve network coverage and speed.
    5. Vodacom’s enterprise business has been a key focus for the company as it seeks to diversify its revenue streams beyond traditional mobile services.
    6. Vodacom has been expanding its enterprise services beyond South Africa, with a recent partnership agreement with Safaricom in Kenya to offer joint enterprise services across East Africa.
    7. Mzimba’s departure comes as Vodacom’s CEO Shameel Joosub has been pushing for the company to become “the leading digital company in Africa,” with a focus on expanding its enterprise offerings and investing in new technologies such as 5G.
