MTN was named the best voice network in South Africa, beating out competitors Vodacom, Cell C, and Telkom.

    1. The ranking was based on the 2023 Mobile Voice Network Quality Report released by MyBroadband, which evaluated the networks’ dropped call ratio, speech quality, call setup time, and call success ratio.
    2. MTN recorded the lowest dropped call ratio and the highest speech quality mean opinion score, and had the highest overall score of 66.3%.
    3. Telkom was the worst performer nationally, recording the lowest overall score of 48.8%.
    4. Vodacom, South Africa’s largest network provider by subscribers, recorded the best call setup time but missed the mark on call success ratio.
