    Airports Company South Africa Celebrate Major Wins

    Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) is pleased to announce the strong performance of its airports at the 2026 ACI Africa Passenger Facilitation & Readiness Excellence Awards, with Cape Town International Airport and King Shaka International Airport receiving recognition across several key categories.

    The ACI Africa awards recognise excellence among airports across Africa, with ACSA’s airports receiving recognition in Governance, Stakeholder Integration, Innovation & Transformation, and Processes.

    These achievements reflect ACSA’s continued focus on operational excellence, effective stakeholder collaboration and delivering a seamless and passenger-centric airport experience across its network.

    Cape Town International Airport named Overall Winner

    Cape Town International Airport achieved recognition across four categories, including being named the Overall Winner of the ACI Africa Passenger Facilitation & Readiness Excellence Awards 2026.

    The airport was recognised in three other categories:

    • Winner – Stakeholders Integration Category
    • Runner-up – Governance Category
    • Runner-up – Innovation & Transformation Category

    Being named the Overall Winner recognises Cape Town International as the premier entry port into the Western Cape.

    King Shaka International Airport wins Governance category

    King Shaka International Airport received recognition across three categories, including a win in the Governance category.

    The airport was recognised as:

    • Winner – Governance Category
    • Runner-up – Stakeholders Integration Category
    • Runner-up – Processes Category

    “The recognition of Cape Town International Airport and King Shaka International Airport by ACI Africa is a proud moment for ACSA and reflects the commitment of our people to delivering operational excellence across our network. These achievements demonstrate the value of strong collaboration between our employees, airport partners and stakeholders, and our shared focus on creating a safe, efficient and seamless passenger experience. We congratulate the teams at both airports on these well-deserved achievements,”said Mr Charles Shilowa, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Airports Company South Africa.

    The awards highlight the contribution of ACSA’s airports to advancing passenger facilitation and operational readiness within the African aviation sector, while recognising their focus on effective governance, stakeholder collaboration and efficient processes that support seamless airport operations and enhance the passenger experience.

    For ACSA, the recognition is a testament to the organisation’s broader focus on excellence, innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement across its network.
