South African businessman Patrice Motsepe has acquired a controlling stake in South African football club Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM).

    1. Motsepe, who is also the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), bought the club from businessman Abram Sello and will take over as its new chairman.
    2. The acquisition comes just a few months after Motsepe purchased another South African football club, Mamelodi Sundowns, which is one of the most successful clubs in the country.
    3. TTM was founded in 2015 and is based in the Limpopo province. The club gained promotion to South Africa’s top league, the Premier Soccer League (PSL), in 2020.
    4. The acquisition is expected to provide TTM with additional resources and expertise, which could help the club improve its performance on the field and attract more fans and sponsors.
    5. Motsepe has been a prominent figure in South African business and politics for many years. He is the founder and executive chairman of African Rainbow Minerals, a mining company, and has been involved in a number of other business ventures and philanthropic initiatives.
    6. Motsepe has also been actively involved in football in South Africa and across the continent. In addition to his ownership of Mamelodi Sundowns and his role as CAF president, he has been a member of the FIFA Council since 2016.
    7. The acquisition of TTM by Patrice Motsepe is likely to generate interest and attention in South Africa’s football community, as well as among investors and fans of the sport. With his track record of success in business and football, Motsepe will be looking to build a winning team and establish TTM as a major player in the Premier Soccer League.
