Cheryl Persensie has been promoted to Head of Social Performance and B-BBEE at Red Rocket. She joined the independent power producer and energy trader as Compliance Manager in 2024. Part of the Sustainability and HSEQ team, Persensie’s new role sees her lead the company’s social impact, transformation and B-BBEE strategy, ensuring compliance, stakeholder engagement and delivery against social and transformation commitments.
She is an ESG (ISB), Risk & Compliance (CRCMP TM) and B-BBEE MDP certified Practitioner with 20 years’ experience working in the public and private sector. She is experienced in ESG and sustainability reporting; Economic Development Strategy development; pre/post financial close; community and stakeholder engagement; B-B-BBEE modelling and project management.
She holds an MPhil in Development Practice (Pretoria University/Global Association Development Practice), a Masters of Technology: Business Administration, BPhil in Sustainable Development Planning and Management from Stellenbosch University and has completed the Sustainability Practitioners Programme Cambridge through the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership.
