CDH is pleased to announce the appointment of Megan Rodgers as Cape Town Office Managing Partner, effective 1 July 2026. A Director in the firm’s Corporate & Commercial practice and Head of its Oil & Gas sector, Megan is widely recognised as one of Southern Africa’s leading energy M&A lawyers, with extensive experience advising clients on complex cross-border transactions and projects across Africa. Since joining CDH in 2015, Megan has built one of the region’s foremost oil and gas practices and earned recognition from leading international legal directories for her expertise and leadership.

The appointment reflects CDH’s continued commitment to the Western Cape, where the firm has deep historic roots through its predecessor firms and has supported clients for generations. As one of South Africa’s leading business centres, the Western Cape remains an important market for many of the firm’s clients, and CDH is committed to ensuring that it continues to deliver the exceptional service, market-leading legal expertise and trusted relationships for which the firm is known.

As Cape Town Office Managing Partner, Megan will lead CDH’s strategic engagement in the Western Cape, deepening client relationships, and ensuring the firm continues to deliver commercially focused legal solutions that meet clients’ evolving needs. Alongside her new responsibilities, she will continue to lead the firm’s market-leading Oil & Gas sector, maintaining her close involvement with clients and the complex cross-border matters for which she is recognised. Megan will also champion a high-performing and inclusive culture, strengthening collaboration, developing talent, and reinforcing the Cape Town office as an exceptional place for our people to build their careers.

Brent Williams, Chief Executive Officer, CDH says “The Western Cape is an increasingly important market for our clients and for our firm. Megan combines exceptional technical expertise with outstanding leadership, commercial acumen, and a deeply collaborative approach. She is ideally positioned to lead our Cape Town office as we deepen our presence in the region, strengthen our client relationships, and continue building a culture where our people can thrive and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.”

Commenting on her appointment, Megan says “I am honoured to take on this role at such an exciting time for both our Cape Town office and the Western Cape market. I look forward to working alongside our talented teams to deepen our relationships with clients, strengthen our culture of collaboration, and inclusion, and build on the momentum and opportunities that lie ahead.”
