    CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

    Salary Range: R1 181 647.23 – R2 258 694.07 (inclusive of benefits)
    Location: Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal
    Reference: CFO/07/2025


    ABOUT INGONYAMA TRUST

    The Ingonyama Trust is an organ of state responsible for the administration of communal land held in trust for the benefit of communities across KwaZulu-Natal. It is administered by the Ingonyama Trust Board (ITB). In fulfilling this mandate, the Trust works closely with Traditional Councils, government institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure responsible governance of land and resources.

    The Ingonyama Trust seeks to appoint a suitably qualified, ethical, and strategically minded individual to serve as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide strategic leadership and support by managing financial and accounting services, as well as supply chain management.
    • Analyse financial information to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Oversee the implementation of financial initiatives and strategy.

    POST REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum of a postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
    • At least 10 years’ experience in financial management, with 5 years at Senior Management level in a related field.
    • Mandatory: Registration with a recognised professional body in the financial/accounting sector in South Africa.

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

    • Practical GRAP / International Financial Reporting experience.
    • Knowledge of:
      • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
      • National Treasury Regulations
      • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
      • Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (Act 5 of 2000)
      • King IV Report on Corporate Governance
      • Other relevant legislation
