    Lesaka Technologies Announces new Executive Leadership Appointments

    Kagiso Khaole has been appointed chief executive officer of the Merchant Division

    Lesaka Technologies has revealed significant executive appointments within its Merchant Division and at the Group level, marking a strategic move to enhance leadership capabilities.

    Key Appointments:

    • Kagiso Khaole has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Merchant Division. With over a decade of experience in driving growth and innovation at leading global technology firms in Africa, Kagiso most recently led Starlink’s expansion across 25 African markets for SpaceX. He also served as the General Manager for sub-Saharan Africa at Uber. Kagiso officially joined Lesaka on 1 September 2025.
    • Roland Naidoo has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of the Merchant Division. Previously, Roland was the Group Executive Head of Data, Customer Experience, and Operations at Multichoice. He has also held senior roles at Standard Bank and is well-regarded for his expertise in digital transformation and building high-performing teams. Roland will begin his role at Lesaka on 1 November 2025.

    Group Level Appointment:

    • Akash Dowra has been appointed as the Chief Strategy Officer at the Group level. Akash comes from Deloitte, where he served as Managing Partner of Deloitte Africa’s Strategy and Transactions advisory practice. He previously held the role of Chief Growth Officer at Discovery Bank, contributing to the bank’s growth to over one million accounts in just four years. Akash will start at Lesaka on 1 October 2025.

    Leadership Perspective:

    Lincoln Mali, CEO of Lesaka Southern Africa, expressed enthusiasm about these appointments, stating, “These appointments mark an exciting new chapter for Lesaka, and I am delighted that we are attracting the highest calibre of leaders.”
