The Melbro Group has announced two key leadership appointments, marking a significant new chapter for the business as it positions itself for the next phase of growth. Kevin Lennett has been appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer, while Rena Engelbrecht takes on the role of Managing Director of The Crazy Store.
Kevin Lennett, since joining in 2012, has played a transformative role in The Crazy Store’s growth as a trusted retail brand, overseeing its expansion from approximately 200 stores to the current 537 stores across Southern Africa. In his new role, he will provide strategic leadership across the Group, ensuring continuity and stability across its businesses. Aside from The Crazy Store the Group compromises of the 112-year-old Wholesale division Heneck Sacks, Cash and Carry division Classic and Melbro Brands (Nutribullet and Ariete).
Commenting on his appointment, Kevin said: “Melbro Group has a proud history rooted in strong family foundations. I am excited to lead the Group into its next chapter, working closely with our teams, Board and partners to build on this legacy while continuing to innovate and grow.”

Rena Engelbrecht Managing Director of The Crazy Store
Rena Engelbrecht has been appointed Managing Director of The Crazy Store, effective 1 August 2026, following a comprehensive search. With 25 years of retail experience, including six years with the Melbro Group and her senior leadership career across various retailers has encompassed roles such as Marketing and Sales Executive, Operations Executive, General Manager, and Retail Director.
Commenting on Rena’s appointment, Lennett said: “Rena has the relevant experience and passion to ensure the future growth of our business. Her deep understanding of who we are and how we operate, including her previous experience as The Crazy Store’s Retail Merchandise and Marketing Director, combined with her track record across senior retail leadership roles, positions her ideally for a long and productive tenure.”
Together, the appointments signal the next phase in the Melbro Group’s evolution, combining continuity and deep institutional knowledge with experienced retail leadership.
