Applications open for Irish Tech Challenge South Africa

    September 24, 2023By Staff Writer
The Irish Tech Challenge South Africa

The Irish Tech Challenge South Africa is accepting applications from South African tech startups, offering them the opportunity for international exposure and access to global markets.

    1. The initiative is a collaboration between the Embassy of Ireland in South Africa, the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), and Impact Amplifier.
    2. The objective of the Irish Tech Challenge South Africa is to foster mutually beneficial partnerships between Irish tech expertise and South African tech entrepreneurs, driving innovation, job creation, and inclusive economic growth in South Africa.
    3. The program aims to support high-potential tech entrepreneurs in South Africa who are ready to scale their businesses globally but face challenges such as limited resources and lack of access to global networks and infrastructure.
    4. Preference will be given to businesses owned and operated by women, youth, and historically disadvantaged communities.
    5. Five selected tech entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to build their networks in Ireland, Europe, and South Africa. Each entrepreneur will receive funding support of up to EUR10,000 (US$11,000).
    6. Interested startups can apply through the provided application link to be considered for the program.
