Amazon unveils a range of new and updated devices, including an enhanced version of its voice assistant, Alexa, powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI).

    1. The updated Alexa will now have a more natural conversational tone, allowing users to have near-human-like interactions and ask a wider range of questions, from sports game start times to recipe ideas.
    2. One of the key features of the new Alexa is its ability to compose and recite poems, showcasing the advancements in generative AI technology.
    3. Amazon aims to make Alexa more profitable by enhancing its capabilities and attracting users away from competitors like Google’s Bard chatbot.
    4. The Seattle-based company recognizes the growing interest in generative AI start-ups and wants to ensure that Alexa remains a leading voice assistant in the market.
    5. Amazon’s hardware chief, Dave Limp, demonstrated new features of Alexa at the product launch event, including the ability to ask multiple questions without continuously using the wake word “Alexa.”
    6. In addition to the updated Alexa, Amazon introduced refreshed versions of children’s Fire tablets, a soundbar for televisions, and new search capabilities on the FireTV service to enhance user experience.
