First National Bank (FNB) has signed an agreement with MTN South Africa to supply network services for FNB Connect, its mobile virtual network operator (MVNO).

    1. FNB Connect adopts a dual-supplier strategy, retaining Cell C as another network services provider alongside MTN.
    2. MVNOs like FNB Connect leverage existing network operators to offer telecommunications services and complement their existing offerings, attracting retailers and banks in South Africa.
    3. FNB and MTN’s strategic network collaboration aims to accelerate access to reliable telecommunications and internet services for FNB Connect customers.
    4. The collaboration allows FNB Connect customers to enjoy the benefits of both network quality and expands FNB’s range of services, including cost-effective solutions and tailored offerings for individuals and businesses.
    5. FNB’s MVNO has achieved significant sales, with about R400 million worth of digital devices sold in the first half of the year.
