Nissan Egypt is redefining sustainable mobility in Africa with the introduction of its third-generation e-POWER technology on the Nissan QASHQAI and the opportunity to test drive the iconic New PATROL for the first time in Africa. These milestones underscore Nissan’s position as an innovation leader, delivering advanced solutions that combine efficiency, performance, and practicality for African drivers.

The QASHQAI with New e-POWER represents a breakthrough in electrified driving, offering an EV-like experience without the need for charging infrastructure. This latest generation delivers best-in-class fuel efficiency in the C-SUV segment, achieving 4.6 L/100 km (WLTP) CO₂ of just 102 g/km. With an extended range of approximately 1,200 km, enhanced cabin quietness, and responsive performance the QASHQAI sets a new benchmark for combining refinement with effortless driving pleasure.

Unlike other electrified models, e-POWER uses a petrol engine solely as a generator to charge the battery, while propulsion comes entirely from the electric motor. This design eliminates range anxiety and provides instant torque and smooth acceleration, making it ideal for markets where charging infrastructure remains limited.

Complementing this technological leap, the African media will get the opportunity to experience the New Patrol- a symbol of strength and capability for the first time in Africa after its official continental debut earlier in the year.. Together, QASHQAI e-POWER and PATROL embody Nissan’s commitment to innovation and leadership.

To celebrate these advancements, Nissan Egypt is hosting an immersive two-day Red Sea SUV Drive in El Gouna. The event brings together media, dealers, and partners from across Africa for exclusive test drives, expert panels on Nissan’s electrification strategy, and networking opportunities. Attendees will experience firsthand how Nissan’s innovations are shaping the future of mobility.

    Quotes:

    • Nissan Africa President Jordi Vila says the two-day immersive driving experience is a perfect showcase for the company’s leadership of the automotive electrification journey. “This event underscores Nissan’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions that meet the needs of African markets. The Nissan Red Sea SUV Drive affirms our deep belief in the importance of the Egyptian market and its pivotal role in the region.”
    • Nissan Egypt Managing Director Mohamed Samad believes the country is pivotal to Nissan’s regional ambitions: “The Egyptian customer seeks practical and efficient solutions without compromising driving pleasure or strong performance, which the new generation of the e-POWER technology delivers perfectly.”

He added: “This reflects Nissan Egypt’s commitment to expanding our product portfolio and addressing the evolving needs of Egyptian consumers, securing our position as the number one automotive brand for over 2 years in a row in Egypt.

Nissan’s innovative e-POWER electrified powertrain was first introduced in Japan in 2017, with the second generation of the innovative powertrain being introduced on the QASHQAI in Europe in 2022 with a larger, bespoke 1.5 litre turbocharged three-cylinder generator. The third generation of e-POWER was introduced in the QASHQAI in Europe in September, offering even more refinement, lower consumption and emissions – with no compromise on performance. Indeed, the QASHQAI achieved a 7.2l/100km equal best-in-segment real-world fuel consumption rating by ADAC, the independent German automotive agency.

With more than 1.5M units sold globally, across more than 65 countries, Nissan’s commitment to innovation through the Japanese principle of Kaizen—continuous improvement—means cleaner, more efficient, and more refined vehicles for its customers.

    The Distinctive N-Design Grade

The QASHQAI features the sophisticated N-Design grade, with premium enhancements such as a panoramic roof and a 3D Around View Monitor (AVM) to create a premium driving experience.

A decade after its introduction, this generation of the QASHQAI is the very best yet says Nissan AMIEO Vice President of International Communications, Katherine Zachary. “With the QASHQAI e-POWER, Nissan keeps raising the bar in the C-SUV segment. As a Japanese brand, innovation is in our DNA. And the new e-POWER technology on QASHQAI perfectly represents how we innovate to enrich our customers’ lives. More than 250,000 sales of e-POWER vehicles in Europe reflects the strength of this technology.”
