Toyota has reaffirmed its position as South Africa’s most celebrated automotive brand, winning the prestigious Brand of the Year title at the 2024/25 Cars.co.za Consumer Awards. This historic fifth victory highlights Toyota’s continued dominance in the industry, driven by its commitment to quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Beyond this landmark achievement, Toyota secured wins in three major product categories, with the Corolla Cross 1.8 Hybrid XRtaking the Compact Family Car title, the Urban Cruiser 1.5 XR Auto claiming victory in the Budget Crossovercategory, and the Hilux 2.4 GD-6 Raider 4×4 Auto earning recognition as the Leisure Double Cab champion. The success of the Hilux and Corolla Cross, both of which have now won their respective categories twice, further cements Toyota’s reputation as the leading choice among South African consumers.

Unlike other categories in the Consumer Awards, where expert judges and consumer feedback play a role, the Brand of the Year title is determined solely by market data and customer sentiment. Key factors such as sales performance, after-sales service, and overall brand perception contribute to the final result. Toyota’s ability to consistently deliver exceptional products and maintain strong relationships with its customers has made it the most awarded brand in the history of the programme. This year’s victory follows previous wins in 2015/16, 2018/19, 2020/21, and 2023/24, underscoring Toyota’s unwavering leadership in the South African automotive industry. While Toyota took centre stage, its sister brand Lexus narrowly missed out, with the NX 450+ and RX 450+ both finishing as runners-up in their respective categories.

Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) expressed its appreciation to its loyal customers, employees, and dealer network for their continued support. The company also extended gratitude to the Cars.co.za team for hosting another successful edition of the Consumer Awards. Toyota’s remarkable achievement this year not only reflects its superior product range but also reinforces its commitment to innovation and customer service. As Toyota continues to set new benchmarks in the industry, its dedication to excellence ensures that it remains the brand of choice for South African motorists.
