Mercedes-Benz South Africa has expanded its electric vehicle family by introducing the EQE and EQS SUV models, adding to their existing lineup of premium electric cars.

    1. The EQE SUV is available in a single model variant, the EQE 350 4Matic, starting at a price of R2,194,500. The larger EQS SUV offers options of five or seven seats and is available as the EQS 450 4Matic, with prices ranging from R2,726,100 to R2,759,300.
    2. Both the EQE and EQS SUVs are built on Mercedes-Benz’s dedicated electric vehicle platform, which is also used for their sedan counterparts. They feature 10-module lithium-ion batteries of different sizes.
    3. The EQE 350 offers a driving range of approximately 461km to 551km on the WLTP cycle, depending on driving conditions. The EQS 450, equipped with a 108 kWh battery, boasts an estimated WLTP range of up to 616km.
    4. The EQE 350 delivers 215kW of power and 765Nm of torque, while the EQS 450 offers 265kW of power and 800Nm of torque.
    5. The EQE SUV introduces a new electric vehicle sound experience called “serene Breeze,” which aims to provide occupants with a relaxed and natural sound environment, emphasizing the transition from combustion engines to electric vehicles.
    6. Both models offer advanced driver assistance features and utilize the latest MBUX infotainment system, with the EQS optionally offering the MBUX Hyperscreen, a large digital display that spans most of the dashboard.
