Strong demand for Volvo EX30 electric SUV in South Africa

    September 9, 2023By Staff Writer
Waldemar André Christensen Vice-President and Managing Director of the Volvo Group Southern Africa

Over 150 pre-orders for Volvo EX30: Since the order books opened on June 8, there have been over 150 pre-orders placed for the Volvo EX30 electric SUV in South Africa.

    1. Top ten in the EMEA region: South Africa’s market for the EX30 ranks within the top ten for pre-orders in the broader Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
    2. Popular model choices: The range-topping EX30 Twin Motor Performance Ultra is the most popular option among South African buyers, accounting for nearly half of all orders. The Single Motor Plus Extended Range and the entry-level Single Motor Core variants are also popular choices.
    3. Increased order commitment: Based on the strong interest and pre-orders, Volvo South Africa has secured 500 EX30 units from its parent company for delivery in 2024, more than three times the number of orders received thus far.
    4. Five different variants: The EX30 is available in five different models in South Africa, including three single-motor and two twin-motor options.
    5. Impressive performance and range: The EX30 offers impressive acceleration and driving range. The twin-motor models provide all-wheel drive and can reach 100km/h in just 3.6 seconds.
    6. Generous features and safety: Regardless of the trim grade chosen (Core, Plus, or Ultra), the EX30 comes with a generous range of features, including a 12.3-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, advanced safety systems, and various convenience features.
