Do Kwon, the co-founder of failed Terraform Labs crypto project, was sentenced to 4 months in prison by a Montenegrin court for attempting to travel with a forged passport.

    1. Terraform Labs’ CFO Han Chang-joon was also convicted of the same crime and received a 4 month sentence.
    2. Time already spent in detention will be included in the prison terms and both men can appeal the verdict.
    3. Kwon and Han were arrested in Montenegro in March while trying to board a private jet to Dubai.
    4. Authorities acted on an international arrest warrant issued after the Terra crash that wiped out $40 billion in value.
    5. Prosecutors in South Korea and the US have charged Kwon with fraud.
    6. Both South Korea and the US are seeking Kwon’s extradition from Montenegro, which officials have said may be considered after local proceedings conclude.
