Virseker’s commitment to delivering value, trusted service, and rewarding customer experiences took centre stage as the insurer officially handed over a brand-new Mazda CX-30 2.0 Dynamic Edition Auto FWD valued at R579 400 to competition winner Reinier Vermaak from Brackenfell, Cape Town.

The exciting handover took place at Mazda Vereeniging and celebrated not only a major prize giveaway, but also the strong partnership between Virseker and Mazda — two brands focused on reliability, trust, and creating meaningful experiences for South Africans.

The Virseker Mazda competition ran from 1 February 2026 to 30 April 2026 and invited customers and prospective customers to enter by requesting a no-obligation insurance quote through Virseker’s various digital and customer engagement platforms.

As a proudly South African insurance brand, Virseker continues to focus on making insurance simple, accessible, and rewarding for everyday South Africans through quality service, competitive short-term insurance solutions, and customer-focused campaigns that create real value beyond traditional insurance offerings.

From thousands of entries received nationwide, Reinier’s name was randomly selected as the winning entry.

For Reinier, who says he has never won anything before, the moment still feels surreal.

“When they called me, I honestly thought someone was joking,” says Vermaak. “I’ve never won a competition in my life, so hearing that I had won a brand-new Mazda was unbelievable.”

Reinier’s story made the win even more meaningful, as he was already proudly part of the Mazda family long before entering the competition. For the past 12 years, he has owned and driven a 1989 Mazda 323 — a vehicle he says has proven Mazda’s reliability time and time again.

“When I bought the car, I had to replace the engine, but since then it has been driving with absolutely no problems,” he explains. “That car showed me how dependable Mazda really is. To now drive away in a brand-new Mazda because of Virseker is something I never imagined would happen.”

The handover at Mazda Vereeniging also reflected Mazda’s “Wonderrrr Awaits” positioning, bringing together customer loyalty, trusted partnerships, and generations of dedication to the Mazda brand.

Very few dealerships in South Africa can tell a story spanning four generations and more than six decades of service. The Plitt family legacy at Mazda Vereeniging continues through:

    • 1st Generation – Mr. Plitt (Founder)
    • 2nd Generation – Mr. Selwyn Plitt
    • 3rd Generation – Rory Plitt (Dealer Principal)
    • 4th Generation – Dylan Plitt

The event also celebrated the people who have dedicated decades of service to Mazda customers and helped build the dealership’s respected reputation.

Among them is Tony Killian, one of Mazda Vereeniging’s longest-serving employees, who joined the dealership as a Workshop Mechanic on 22 January 1987. Ronnie, Workshop Manager at Mazda Vereeniging, also brings approximately 40 years of Mazda experience and has been part of the Mazda Vereeniging family for the past 18 years.

“This competition perfectly reflects what strong partnerships can achieve,” said Rory Plitt, Dealer Principal at Mazda Vereeniging. “It’s about rewarding loyal customers, celebrating trusted relationships, and creating memorable moments that people will never forget.”

Through campaigns like the Virseker Mazda competition, Virseker continues to demonstrate its focus on customer engagement and service excellence — offering South Africans not only trusted insurance solutions, but also opportunities that genuinely change lives.

For Reinier, the handover marks the beginning of a completely new journey.

“My Mazda 323 will always be special to me,” he says. “But thanks to Virseker, I’m now driving home in a brand-new Mazda CX-30 — and that’s something I’ll never forget.”
