Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, the Minister in the Presidency for Electricity, has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the inaugural Africa Climate Summit (ACS).

    1. The ACS, taking place from September 4 to 6, is focused on the theme of “Green Growth and Climate Finance for Africa and the World.”
    2. The summit is hosted by the government of Kenya under the leadership of the African Union (AU) Chair of the Committee of African Heads of States on Climate Change (CAHOSCC).
    3. The objective of the ACS is to bring together African Heads of State, global leaders, and various stakeholders to exchange knowledge and experiences on climate change action and sustainability in Africa.
    4. Minister Ramokgopa has been invited to participate in a ministerial panel discussion during the summit. The panel will focus on “Africa’s Green Hydrogen, Industry & Trade Potential” and explore the continent’s potential for green industrial production and hydrogen production.
    5. The Minister will also engage in a panel session on “Financing Green Hydrogen in Africa” at the Africa Green Hydrogen Alliance (AGHA) forum, which is a part of the ACS.
    6. Livestreaming links have been provided by the ACS for those interested in following the summit’s proceedings.
