    June 24, 2023By Staff Writer

The Tshwane Automotive Special Economic Zone has attracted over R200 million more investment than its initial pledged amount of R4.33 billion.

    1. The suppliers in the Tshwane Automotive SEZ have created 3,098 permanent jobs, an increase of 20% from the previous quarter.
    2. There are currently around 15 projects at different stages of development across different SEZs, mostly expected to be operational by the end of the 2023/24 financial year.
    3. The estimated cumulative rand value of operational investments in SEZs has grown from R26 billion to R28 billion between Q3 and Q4 of 2022/23.
    4. Since the introduction of the SEZs Programme, there has been an increase in the number of operational investors in these zones.
    5. The newly designated Namakwa SEZ in the Northern Cape is expected to be a game changer for the province.
