Norse Atlantic Airways is launching a new direct route between Cape Town and London, providing easier travel options for passengers between the two popular destinations.

    1. The UK has seen a significant increase in two-way passenger traffic with Cape Town, leading to the introduction of the new flight route to meet the surge in demand.
    2. The additional flights are expected to stimulate tourism between South Africa and the UK, offering cheaper flight options that will appeal to budget-conscious travelers.
    3. The airline, founded in Norway in 2021, aims to provide affordable long-haul flights to popular destinations worldwide. Cape Town is its first African destination.
    4. The Cape Town-London route will operate three times a week, with flights departing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The outbound flight leaves Cape Town at 11:45 and arrives in London at 21:30 the same day.
    5. The economy return flight with Norse Atlantic Airways starts at around £499 (approximately R11,864), offering cost savings compared to other airlines. For example, British Airways’ minimum economy class return flight on the same day costs at least R15,683.
    6. Norse Atlantic Airways offers three ticket classes for both Economy and Premium, with varying baggage allowances, boarding groups, and meal services. Passengers can choose between Light, Classic, and Flextra options.
