Nederburg has partnered with Chef Nti (Nthabiseng Ramaboa) to create exciting new recipes to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their red blend, Baronne.

    1. Chef Nti has developed a suite of street-style dishes inspired by the succulent, smooth spiciness, and mouth-filling palate of Baronne.
    2. She is known for her imaginative foodie TV and social media content that puts a fresh twist on traditional township favorites.
    3. Chef Nti hosts the show “Street Food in Africa” on the Food Network channel, sharing South African flavors and culinary culture with a global audience.
    4. The collaboration aims to blend heritage and modernity in the dishes, reflecting the essence of Nederburg’s wine.
    5. Chef Nti incorporates indigenous heritage ingredients like maize, ditlwadi, lerotse, and morogo, encouraging people to honor South Africa’s culinary past with fresh and original takes on traditional favorites.
    6. Nederburg is participating in a project with the South African Chefs’ Association, Harvesting Heritage, and SocioTech BBL to protect and preserve indigenous vegetables, fruits, pulses, and grains.
    7. The winery aims to support small-scale farmers in cultivating these ingredients and making them available to both professional and home cooks.
    8. Nederburg values cultural and culinary heritage and seeks to conserve traditions while infusing them with contemporary technology, research, and thinking.
