    8 startups selected for latest Africa accelerator programme

    Grindstone Africa, a renowned accelerator program focused on high-growth entrepreneurship, has announced the selection of eight innovative startups for its 2023 program.

    1. The cohort comprises seven startups from South Africa and one from Lesotho, highlighting the diverse entrepreneurial talent emerging from the region.
    2. The selected startups cover a range of sectors and offer unique solutions. Notable ventures include Vambo Technologies, which leverages advanced AI for multilingual communication; iTorho, a marketplace platform for small businesses and freelancers; and Paragon Impact, a sustainability tech and impact advisory company.
    3. The cohort includes startups addressing accessibility challenges, such as deaftouch, which provides communication solutions for the deaf and blind communities, and Chaperone from Lesotho, which facilitates electronic payment instruments.
    4. Grindstone Africa’s program emphasizes market access readiness, empowering startups to expand their reach and tap into new markets for growth and success.
    5. The 2023 edition of Grindstone Africa is sponsored by Absa, a major financial institution, signaling the importance of corporate support in nurturing and scaling African startups.
    6. Catherine Young, the managing partner of Grindstone, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Absa and the program’s potential to catalyze growth, innovation, and prosperity for the selected startups.
