    1. Clover, a South African dairy company, has invested R360-million in a servitised solution to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the winter months.
    2. The solution involves the installation of an on-site gas-powered plant that will provide Clover with both electricity and heat, reducing the company’s reliance on the national power grid.
    3. The plant is being installed and maintained by Clarke Energy, an international engineering company that specializes in gas-powered solutions.
    4. The servitised solution allows Clover to pay for the plant on a per-kilowatt-hour basis, rather than investing in the plant outright.
    5. The solution is expected to save Clover up to R60-million per year in energy costs and to reduce the company’s carbon footprint by up to 30%.
    6. Clover has set a target of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2040 and is investing in a range of renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives to help achieve this goal.
    7. The investment also reflects the growing trend towards servitised solutions in the energy sector, which allow companies to pay for energy infrastructure as a service, rather than investing in it outright.
