    Liberty Group Limited is looking for a Head of Procurement to join their Johannesburg team. This role is crucial for implementing the Group Procurement Framework and developing effective sourcing strategies. The aim is to maximise value for the company while ensuring compliance with regulations.

    The successful candidate will have a solid background in procurement, with at least 13 years of experience in managing procurement functions within a large organisation. They will need to be a member of relevant professional bodies and possess a degree in Purchasing and Procurement.

    Responsibilities

    The Head of Procurement will oversee the entire procurement value chain for a dedicated portfolio. This includes managing commercial, operational, financial, and ethical risks, and ensuring that procurement processes optimise efficiency.

    Building strong relationships with business stakeholders is essential, as is providing strategic insights to support decision-making. The role also involves leading efforts to digitise procurement processes and implement best practices across the organisation.

    Qualifications

    Candidates should have proven leadership experience, particularly in managing procurement functions, and must be skilled negotiators. A solid understanding of the procurement landscape, including regulatory requirements, is vital. Furthermore, the ideal applicant should demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to foster collaboration among teams.
