    Kagiso Trust has announced the appointment of Ayanda Khumalo as a member of its board, marking a significant enhancement to the organization’s leadership. Known for her extensive experience in financial services and legal expertise, Khumalo brings a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to social impact to her new role.

    Khumalo’s career is a testament to her versatility and dedication. She holds a BSc from Rhodes University and a postgraduate diploma from the University of Johannesburg. Her academic credentials are complemented by advanced training, including a leadership development program at the Gordon Institute of Business Science and an advanced management program qualification from Harvard Business School.

    Professionally, she began at Alexander Forbes in 1997 as an assistant manager, later rising to Managing Director of Alexander Forbes Financial Services Holdings. From 2010 to 2019, she served as CEO of Absa’s Wealth and Investments division, and since 2014, she has been an independent non-executive director at Mahau Women’s Investment Holdings, Vodacom Group, and Old Mutual Group.

    Beyond corporate leadership, Khumalo is a partner pro bono at Webber Wentzel, providing legal services free of charge to those in need. She also serves as a trustee of the Alliance for Rural Democracy, advocating for land rights in former homelands, and is a former board member of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc), as well as the current chair of Boxing South Africa. Her appointment to Kagiso Trust reflects her alignment with its mission to drive social and economic development.

    This appointment comes at a pivotal time for Kagiso Trust, as it seeks to expand its impact. Khumalo’s strategic insight and proven track record position her to play a key role in shaping the organization’s future, blending financial acumen with a passion for community upliftment.
