    Salesforce names Denise Dresser as new CEO of Slack

    Salesforce, the global cloud computing company, has announced the appointment of longtime executive Denise Dresser as the new CEO of Slack, a popular workplace communication platform.

    1. Dresser becomes the third CEO of Slack since its acquisition by Salesforce in 2020. She takes over from Lidiane Jones, who has accepted the CEO role at dating app Bumble, effective from January 2024.
    2. With over 12 years of experience at Salesforce, Dresser has held various executive positions, most recently serving as the president of accelerated industries. Her extensive background in technology and collaboration makes her well-suited to lead Slack.
    3. ones will work closely with Dresser during the transition period to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities. This will provide continuity and support as Dresser assumes her new role.
    4. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff praised Dresser as a collaborative technology leader who brings teams together. He commended her commitment to the company’s values, customers, and innovation.
    5. Salesforce acquired Slack in a $27.7 billion deal in 2020. Since the acquisition, there have been notable executive departures, including Slack founder Stewart Butterfield and Salesforce co-CEO Bret Taylor.
    6. Salesforce’s shares have experienced a significant increase of nearly 61% year-to-date. The appointment of Dresser as Slack’s CEO reflects the company’s commitment to further growth and success in the workplace communication market.
