    Ethiopia to expand economic ties with China

    Ethiopia is planning to expand economic ties with China.

    1. The Ethiopian Investment Commission aims to develop favorable policies for foreign investment and highlight priority sectors to attract more Chinese firms.
    2. The sectors of focus for investment include manufacturing, agriculture, mining, tourism, and information technology and communications.
    3. Ethiopia has constructed over 30 industrial parks to attract foreign investment.
    4. The country offers streamlined, one-stop services for businesses operating in Ethiopia.
    5. The Chinese Industrial Park, known as the Eastern Industrial Park, has created over 20,000 jobs and attracted significant investment, including from the Huajian Group.
    6. Ethiopia aims to be a beacon of prosperity in Africa and seeks more investment aligned with its current potential.
    7. The Belt and Road Initiative has provided benefits to Ethiopia, including the development of essential infrastructure.
