Football Legends Shine In Dramatic Final

Former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana stars Happy Jele and Innocent Maela guided Centrum Men to a dramatic 1-0 victory over defending champions Rexona to claim the 2026 Clicks BroScape Five-a-Side Championship title at Discovery Soccer Park in Illovo on 29 May.

Powered by Clicks BroNation, the annual tournament brought together football legends, ClubCard winners, fans and some of the country’s leading men’s grooming and wellness brands for a day of football, entertainment and connection.

A goal five minutes from full-time proved the difference in a tightly contested final, denying Rexona’s Teko Modise the title despite a series of impressive performances earlier in the tournament.

Modise had been instrumental in Rexona’s run to the final, scoring four goals as his side demolished Lucas Radebe and Mpho Popps-coached Nivea Men 7-1 in the semi-final – a repeat of last year’s final.

Centrum Men booked their place in the final after edging Mthokozisi Yende-led Mitchum 1-0 in their semi-final, thanks to a goal scored just two minutes from time. Mitchum went on to secure third place, coming back from 3-1 down to beat Nivea Men 4-3 in a thrilling bronze medal play-off decided by a last-minute winner.

Once Centrum Men had lifted the trophy, the Clicks BroScape team handed out several individual and team awards, with Nivea Men taking home the Best War Cry Award, Teko Modise winning the Golden Boot Award, Happy Jele receiving the Golden Glove Award and Xola Mlambo being named Man of the Tournament.

Nigel Grimes, Chief Commercial Officer at Clicks Group, said Clicks BroScape was developed to create a more convenient and relevant grooming and wellness shopping experience.

“Our research showed that men wanted to find everything from deodorant and aftershave to skincare and razor blades in one dedicated space. We launched Clicks BroScape to create a destination for men’s grooming and wellness needs, and have partnered with key suppliers to pilot Men Zones in selected Clicks stores, with plans to expand where there is demand,” he said.

“Clicks BroScape is a natural extension of that vision. Football brings people together, and events like this allow us to connect with men through something they genuinely enjoy while giving our partners a platform to showcase their brands and engage directly with consumers.”

From health checks and skincare consultations to grooming experiences, haircuts, refreshments and vehicle test drives, the event offered a range of interactive brand experiences for attendees.

Host Thabiso Mosia and DJ Shluda kept the energy high throughout the day as fans mingled with football heroes and enjoyed the festive atmosphere.

Grimes thanked all participating brands and partners for their contribution to the event’s success, including BIC Flex, Centrum Men, Clicks SUNprotect, Dorco, Dove Men+Care, Gillette, L’Oréal Men Expert, Mitchum, Nivea Men, Old Spice, OptiHealth, Rexona, Schick, Sorbet MAN and Vaseline Men, as well as Energade, Jägermeister, and Volkswagen.

With planning for next year’s tournament already underway, he encouraged fans to follow Clicks SA social media channels for updates on the 2027 Clicks BroScape Five-a-Side Championship.

Highlights and match action from the 2026 Clicks BroScape Five-a-Side Championship can be viewed on X, Instagram and TikTok @Clicks_SA, on Facebook @ClicksSouthAfrica, and on YouTube via the Clicks Bro Nation 5-A-Side Football Tournament livestream. ClubCard members can also follow Clicks SA social media channels for future opportunities to attend exclusive events and experiences.
