Fresh off the successful launch of the BYD ATTO 8, BYD Auto South Africa is preparing to introduce another exciting addition to its growing local line-up. On 10 and 11 June 2026, BYD will officially unveil the all-new ATTO 2 DM-i to South African media and stakeholders, marking the latest chapter in the brand’s ambitious expansion within the local new energy vehicle market.

While the full details remain under wraps until launch, BYD can reveal that the ATTO 2 DM-i will feature the brand’s advanced DM-i plug-in hybrid technology, delivering an intelligent blend of electric driving and long-distance convenience. The vehicle will also incorporate BYD’s acclaimed Blade Battery technology, which has become synonymous with safety, innovation and performance across the brand’s global portfolio.

The arrival of the ATTO 2 DM-i further reinforces BYD’s commitment to providing South African motorists with practical, technologically advanced mobility solutions that meet the evolving needs of modern drivers.

“The South African market has responded incredibly positively to BYD’s growing vehicle portfolio, and we are excited to continue building on that momentum with the introduction of the ATTO 2 DM-i. This is a vehicle designed for customers who want the benefits of electrified mobility without compromising on practicality, convenience or everyday usability. We look forward to sharing the full story with South Africans very soon,” explains Nomonde Kweyi, Marketing Director at BYD Auto South Africa.

Until then, a few questions remain. What level of efficiency will the ATTO 2 DM-i deliver? How will it position itself within the increasingly competitive SUV segment? And perhaps the question everyone is asking: What will the price tag be?

The price and details will be revealed on the 11th of June 2026. For now, the countdown begins.
