McDonald’s South Africa has appointed Millicent “Milly” Maroga as its new Impact Director, strengthening its leadership team as it expands its focus on brand relevance and community engagement.

Maroga brings more than two decades of experience in corporate affairs, having worked across the beverages and financial services sectors. Her previous roles include serving as Corporate Affairs Director at HEINEKEN Beverages and leading the Old Mutual Foundation, where she was involved in driving social impact initiatives. She has also held board positions across both listed and non-listed organisations.

In her new role, Maroga will lead McDonald’s South Africa’s Brand and Impact function, which the company has positioned as a core strategic pillar. The portfolio includes oversight of corporate brand, communications, sustainability and broader societal impact programmes.

She will also support and elevate the work of Ronald McDonald House Charities South Africa, which focuses on providing support to families with hospitalised children.

The appointment comes as McDonald’s South Africa continues to align its growth strategy with stronger community engagement and purpose-led initiatives in a competitive consumer market.
