R6.2m Platinum Range Rover Lands in SA

    February 19, 2026By Staff Writer
Range Rover SV Platinum Edition: An exclusive expression of South African artistry

Inspired by platinum – a rare metal admired for its beauty, lustre and strength – the Range Rover SV Platinum Edition is a meticulously curated expression of modern craftsmanship. Every detail has been considered to echo the qualities of its namesake, from its refined material palette to its bespoke detailing. Just five examples have been commissioned, exclusively for South Africa.

The exterior of the Platinum Edition draws inspiration from the craftsmanship and precise finish of fine jewellery, with its bespoke Platinum Satin body colour, exterior pack featuring Silver Chrome and Graphite Atlas finishes, and Bespoke script badges. A unique gold roof complements the gold script – a signature Bespoke hallmark – while a set of 23-inch diamond-turned alloy wheels adorned with Bespoke Satin Gold inserts finish the exterior look.

Inside, Perlino leather is paired with earth-toned Caraway leather, creating a warm and tactile finish. Interior accents are adorned with silver noble chrome, while a natural cream Ash Burr veneer brings a modern, sculptural calm to the cabin. The Platinum Edition has a profound connection to South Africa, expressed through the Bespoke embroidery that enriches the seats and scatter cushions. This distinctive detail draws from the traditional wooden block‑printing techniques rooted in the rich culture of Limpopo province. The embroidered geometric pattern celebrates the craftmanship of Limpopo, with satin stitching adding a soft sheen that mirrors the shimmer of the platinum found deep in the soil of northern South Africa. This unique design, shaped by the Range Rover Bespoke craftspeople, is also applied to the treadplates, so every entry and exit is an encounter with local artistry.

Janico Dannhauser, Range Rover Brand Manager at JLR South Africa, said: “The Range Rover SV Platinum Edition is a profound celebration of rarity. By blending the world-class sophistication of SV Bespoke with the rich, artisanal heritage of South Africa, we have curated a cultural heirloom. For five discerning clients, this edition represents the ultimate expression of South African luxury.”

    Distinctly Range Rover SV

Range Rover SV Platinum Edition boasts Range Rover’s Rear Body-And-Soul-Seat and Sensory Floor technology, a signature feature on SV models. Sensory Floor, an evolution of Range Rover’s pioneering Body-And-Soul-Seat (BASS) technology, incorporates haptic feedback through the floor mats in addition to the seats. This creates an immersive listening experience, allowing occupants to physically feel the music.

ClearSight interior rear-view mirror is fitted as standard, along with an auto-folding load space cover, four-zone climate control, soft door close and a powered gesture tailgate.

Electronic air suspension with Dynamic Response Pro, Electronic Active Differential with Torque Vectoring by Braking, configurable programs and adaptive off-road cruise control ensure sure-footed performance off the beaten track, coupled with a powerful 452kW V8 engine.

Priced at R 6,223,000, the Range Rover SV Platinum Edition is available exclusively in South Africa: https://www.rangerover.com/en-za/range-rover/platinum-edition.html
