Willem Theron, founder of PSG Financial Services, will retire as non-executive chairperson in July 2026 at the conclusion of the group’s annual general meeting.

Theron established the company in 1998 and played a central role in developing its wealth advisory business. He served as chief executive until 2013, after which he continued in a non-executive chair capacity.

The board acknowledged Theron’s more than 27 years of service and his role in shaping the group’s values and comprehensive financial services offering, which continues to provide expert advice to South Africans.

Lizé Lambrechts, who joined the board in July 2023, will assume the chairperson position. Lambrechts brings extensive experience in the financial services sector, including senior executive roles within the Sanlam Group. She held the position of chief executive at Sanlam Personal Finance for 12 years before leading Santam as chief executive for seven years. She has also chaired the South African Insurance Association and the Life Offices Association.

PSG Financial Services has maintained continuity in leadership, with chief executive Francois Gouws in place since 2013 as Theron’s designated successor.

The group’s JSE-listed shares have shown strong performance, rallying more than 200% over the past five years. The company holds a market capitalisation of approximately R34 billion as of early February 2026, reflecting steady growth in its diversified financial services operations amid South Africa’s evolving economic landscape.

Lambrechts’ insurance background is expected to support the group’s ongoing emphasis on integrated wealth and risk management solutions.
