South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has been cleared of any wrongdoing in connection with a robbery at the Phala-Phala Wildlife farm in Limpopo province in 2020.

    1. The robbery, which occurred in December 2020, involved the theft of several wild animals, including lions and cheetahs.
    2. Ramaphosa’s spokesperson had previously denied any involvement in the robbery, but the president’s name had still been linked to the incident.
    3. The investigation by the police’s National Investigation Unit cleared Ramaphosa of any involvement in the robbery.
    4. The investigation found that the robbery was carried out by a group of criminals who had no connection to Ramaphosa.
    5. The Phala-Phala Wildlife farm is owned by a business partner of Ramaphosa’s son.
    6. The investigation did not find any evidence to suggest that Ramaphosa or his son had any knowledge of or involvement in the robbery.
    7. Ramaphosa has been vocal about his commitment to rooting out corruption and restoring public trust in the South African government.
