Sony is expanding its range of gaming gear with the introduction of the INZONE H6 Air, a new open-back headset designed to deliver an immersive audio experience for gamers. The INZONE H6 Air features an open-back acoustic structure with custom drivers that produce deep and tight bass, aided by back ducts integrated into the drivers.

According to Sony, the open-back design minimises internal reflections by leaving the housing unobstructed, enabling accurate sound field reproduction as intended by game creators and delivering a realistic audio experience that makes players feel inside the game world.

The headset incorporates precision-tuned driver units engineered with the same technology as Sony’s MDR-MV1 open-back studio monitor headphones, specially adapted for the INZONE H6 Air. The back ducts integrated into the driver unit help deliver deep and controlled bass reproduction while maintaining clear separation of mid and low frequencies, making the headset suitable for games rich in sound detail.

Crafted with premium aluminium, the INZONE H6 Air achieves a weight of only 199 grams without the detachable microphone and cable, making them Sony’s lightest gaming headsets. The headset uses the same spring hinge headband design seen in the INZONE H9 II to maintain a compact size without compromising comfort and stability.

Developed with sound designers from PlayStation Studios at Sony Interactive Entertainment, who produce audio for PlayStation games, Sony has created an RPG/Adventure equaliser profile. This profile applies audio processing optimised for role-playing and adventure game titles, recreating the acoustic experience of a sound studio.

The profile can be accessed by connecting to INZONE Hub via the USB-C Audio Box, which also offers virtual 7.1 channel surround sound with 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming. The INZONE H6 Air also features an adjustable cardioid microphone that delivers clear and natural voice capture. The cardioid boom mic focuses on the user’s voice and is angled towards the mouth to eliminate side noise, with a long flexible arm that stays where it is set.

In addition to the headset, Sony has introduced new Fnatic Editions of the INZONE Mouse-A, INZONE Mat-F and INZONE Mat-D, inspired by Fnatic’s signature orange colour. The INZONE Mat-F mousepad features a design inspired by Fnatic and its Valorant team, while the INZONE Mat-D features a black to orange gradient.

Sony has also unveiled a new translucent Glass Purple edition of the INZONE Buds, its truly wireless noise cancelling gaming earbuds, which are now available in black, white and glass purple. Pricing and availability for the INZONE H6 Air, the Fnatic edition accessories and the INZONE Buds Glass Purple in South Africa are to be announced at a later stage.
