Tencent’s Hunyuan AI model: Tencent Holdings has unveiled its large language artificial intelligence (AI) model called Hunyuan, positioning it as a direct competitor to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

    1. Impressive capabilities: Hunyuan boasts over 100 billion parameters and has been trained with more than two trillion tokens, making it a powerful AI model in terms of size and training data.
    2. Language versatility: The model is capable of conversing in both Chinese and English, enhancing its usability for a wider range of applications and audiences.
    3. Writing long text: Tencent claims that Hunyuan outperforms OpenAI’s ChatGPT in writing long text with thousands of words, positioning it as a more effective tool for generating coherent and extensive written content.
    4. Mathematics problem-solving: Tencent’s AI model also demonstrates superior performance in solving certain math problems, showcasing its potential for applications in fields that require complex computational abilities.
    5. Reduced hallucination: Compared to Meta Platform’s Llama 2 model, Hunyuan experiences approximately 30% less hallucination, meaning it generates less incorrect or misleading information.
    6. Growing competition in China: Tencent’s introduction of Hunyuan reflects the intensifying competition among Chinese tech companies to establish dominance in the AI field, with Baidu and SenseTime Group also recently unveiling their own AI models.
