For today’s vehicle buyers, the decision to purchase a car extends far beyond design, specification and monthly affordability. Customers are increasingly asking what happens after the sale: where they will service their vehicle, how they will be supported, whether parts will be available, and what confidence they can have over the long term.

For Changan South Africa, answering these questions are central to the way the brand is building its presence in the local South African market. Changan understands that credibility is not built in the showroom alone. It is built through every kilometre, every service visit and every support interaction that follows.

    Thinking Far Beyond the Sale

While a customer’s journey may begin in the showroom, lasting trust is built through every kilometre travelled. For many motorists, particularly those exploring a newer automotive brand, peace of mind is one of the most important purchase factors.

Changan understands that customers are looking for more than just a vehicle. They want confidence that their vehicle will be supported by reliable service expert maintenance, backed by a network that is ready to assist when it matters.

From warranty cover and service plans to roadside assistance and dealer support, Changan is putting the building blocks in place to help customers feel confident, from day one.

Changan Journey – A Cornerstone to Confidence

Now firmly established on African soil, Changan South Africa prides itself on being both customer and dealer centric, placing long-term relationships and ownership satisfaction at the heart of its business.

By putting customers and dealers at the centre of its operations, Changan South Africa is building a trusted foundation for sustainable growth and lasting relationships across the continent.

This commitment is brought to life through Changan Journey, the brand’s customer care and aftersales ecosystem. Established to provide peace of mind throughout the ownership experience, Changan Journey combines warranty support, servicing and maintenance programmes, roadside assistance, and the reassurance of an expanding dealer network.

Peace of Mind Matters More Than Ever

South African motorists are making vehicle decisions in a challenging environment. Affordability, fuel costs, interest rates, maintenance and long-term value all play a role in the buying process. Against this backdrop, aftersales support has become a critical part of the ownership conversation.

A vehicle that is well priced and well specified still needs to be backed by the right support. Customers want clear service requirements, meaningful warranty cover and access to professional assistance through the brand’s local network.

The Changan Alsvin is sold with a 5 Year / 75 000KM Service Plan on the 1.5L AT and the 1.4L MT models, respectively. When considering the UNI-S, Service Plan coverage is increased to 5 Year / 90 000KM, with the CS75 Pro range enjoying the same 5 Year / 90 000KM plan across all models in the range, too. The 2.0 Hunter Diesel Range offers a 5 Year / 90 000KM Service Plan on the top of the range 4WD AT; with the option available for the 2WD MT.

Further to Service Plans, Maintenance Plans are also available on the Alsvin, UNI-S and CS75 Pro models. The Hunter K50 REEV is sold with a 5 Year / 90 000KM Maintenance Plan, as is the Deepal S07. All vehicles benefit from a 5 Year / 150 000KM Warranty, with an additional 8 Year / 150 000KM on battery and high voltage components.

Changan’s focus on aftersales is therefore not an add-on. It is part of the brand’s commitment to building lasting trust in South Africa.

    Growing Local Support

Changan’s South African journey is supported by the continued expansion of its local dealer network, which stands at 31 dealerships nationally – with the interim goal of more than 50, by the end of 2026. As more dealerships come on board across the country, customers gain greater access to sales, service and support.

This growing footprint is an important part of building credibility. It shows that Changan is not simply entering the market with vehicles, but with the infrastructure required to support those vehicles over time.

Local parts support also plays a key role in the ownership experience. Changan’s dedicated parts warehouse in Pomona, Kempton Park, forms part of the brand’s local commitment, helping to support availability, efficiency and the long-term serviceability of vehicles in South Africa.

    Building Trust Through Every Touchpoint

Trust in an automotive brand is built through consistency. It is shaped by the way customers are treated before purchase, during handover, at service intervals and whenever support is required.

For Changan, every part of the customer journey is an opportunity to build confidence. From the sales team introducing customers to the brand, to service advisors guiding them through maintenance requirements, the ownership journey is made up of many small but important moments.

A Long-Term Commitment to South African Customers

Changan’s growing presence in South Africa is about more than bringing new vehicles to market. It is about building a brand that customers can trust, return to and recommend.

The company’s long-term commitment is reflected in the way it is investing in its local footprint, dealer relationships, customer care systems, aftersales support and ownership programmes. These are the foundations that matter when customers are looking for confidence beyond the brochure.

As South African buyers continue to weigh up new brands and new mobility options, the complete ownership journey will become even more important. For Changan, that journey is not an afterthought. It is central to the brand’s promise.
