Engen Xtreme strengthened its presence in South Africa’s motorsport arena at the Passion for Speed, building on the lubricant brand’s growing relationship with Zwartkops Raceway and reinforcing its long-term commitment to motorsport alignment.

Held on 30 and 31 January 2026, the milestone event opened the local motorsport season with two full days of on-track action at the historic Pretoria circuit. Widely regarded as South Africa’s premier historic racing festival, Passion for Speed brought together iconic cars, international and local drivers, and thousands of motorsport enthusiasts to celebrate 25 years of racing heritage.

The anniversary edition delivered a standout programme, featuring the BMW M Performance Parts Race Series, Legends of the 9 Hour, Classic GT and Historic Single Seaters, a Ford vs Ferrari Tribute, the Sideways Spectacle, and a Jordan Formula 1 showcase, reinforcing the event’s status as a showcase of motorsport legacy and spectacle.

Engen Xtreme’s presence was highly visible throughout the weekend, with the brand taking ownership of the pre-race area and delivering an interactive on-site activation focused on customer engagement and brand experience. The activation included a product display, interactive games such as a bottle toss challenge, and a consumer competition, creating meaningful touchpoints with motorsport fans across both days.

In addition, the event marked the first public showcase of newly installed Engen Xtreme branding at selected sections of the Zwartkops Raceway, extending the brand’s footprint beyond the activation zone and into the permanent motorsport environment.

“Passion for Speed provided a powerful platform to deepen Engen Xtreme’s connection with the motorsport community,” says Melissa Graham, B2C Sales Marketing Manager of Lubricants at Engen. “Having already activated at Zwartkops previously, this event allowed us to elevate our presence and show up more boldly in a performance-driven environment. As Xtremely South African Oil for SA’s Pros, motorsport remains a natural and credible space for our brand.”

Engen Xtreme’s successful presence at Passion for Speed represents a significant step forward in its motorsport journey – positioning the brand with confidence at the intersection of heritage, performance and South African expertise.
