PHOTOS:  Alfa Romeo unveils new 33 Stradale, a modern tribute to the classic

    August 31, 2023By Staff Writer
Jean Philippe Imparato - CEO di Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo has revealed the highly anticipated 33 Stradale, a halo car designed to pay homage to the original 33 Stradale from 1967 and fill the void left by the 8C Competizione.

    1. Powered by a 3.0l twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine, the new 33 Stradale boasts over 420kW of power and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds, with a top speed of 333 km/h.
    2. The car features two factory-set drive modes: Strada for everyday road use, and Pista for maximum performance on the race track. In Pista mode, the traction control system can be fully deactivated.
    3. The chassis of the 33 Stradale has been fine-tuned by Alfa Romeo F1 racing driver Valterri Bottas, offering exceptional handling and comfort. The carbon fibre monocoque and active shock absorbers contribute to its impressive performance.
    4. Stopping power is provided by a carbon-ceramic braking package developed by Brembo, featuring brake-by-wire technology and high-performance calipers.
    5. The interior of the 33 Stradale stays true to the minimalist design of the original, with a retractable infotainment screen, a 3D “telescope” digital instrument cluster, and a clean center console devoid of excessive switchgear.
    6. Limited to just 33 units, the 33 Stradale has garnered significant interest, with all units reportedly already sold. Pricing is estimated to be upwards of R20m.

Alfa Romeo’s new 33 Stradale captures the essence of the original while incorporating modern technology and performance. With its breathtaking design, powerful engine, and meticulous attention to detail, it stands as a worthy successor to the iconic 8C Competizione, appealing to automotive enthusiasts and collectors alike.
