MTN SA is celebrating a major MTN global milestone by rewarding 300 000 subscribers with prizes.

From now until 19 April 2026, MTN SA customers stand a chance to win weekly rewards designed to say a sincere “Y’ello and thank you” to the people who power the MTN Nation.

To qualify, customers simply need to recharge with a minimum of R30 per week during the campaign period. 300 customers will each receive 3GB of data and 300 on-net minutes every month for 12 months. In addition, 30 000 customers every week will receive 300MB of anytime data over the full campaign period. This will result in over 300 000 customers being rewarded.

Rewards will be provisioned via the MTN App and can be redeemed through the MyGifts feature.

The customer rewards form part of MTN’s celebration of reaching 300 million subscribers – a landmark that reflects more than 30 years of growth, connection and impact across the continent. A key part of this journey has been South Africa, where millions of customers rely on MTN every day to stay connected.

“We’d like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to our South African customers for their trust and loyalty,” says Muyiwa Ladipo, Chief Consumer Officer for Prepaid at MTN South Africa. “For many South Africans, their first mobile number was an MTN number. As we reflect on this milestone, we are deeply appreciative of the role our customers have played in helping us reach 300 million.”

Since launching in 1994, the same year South Africa became a democracy, MTN has been one of the country’s great business success stories. The company has played a critical role in accelerating the shift from fixed-line communication to mobile connectivity and, more recently, in enabling digital access across communities, businesses and institutions. South African pre- and post-paid customers continue to be an integral part of MTN’s growth story across the continent.

As Ladipo continues: “We have been privileged to help reshape how South Africans connect, learn, work and engage with one another. As we celebrate this milestone, we say thank you to the connectors, the creators, the streamers and the shapers – the gamers, the learners, the money movers and the marathon talkers. Here’s to you – the people who made 300 million possible.”
