Dr Phuthi Mahanyele-Dabengwa, Chief Executive Officer of Naspers South Africa and a trustee of the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation, has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration by the Central University of Technology (CUT).
The Foundation, which announced the honour, praised Mahanyele-Dabengwa’s leadership and commitment to impact, noting that her guidance has played a key role in strengthening the organisation’s strategic direction and long-term sustainability.
“Dr Mahanyele-Dabengwa’s leadership, insight, and steadfast commitment to impact have played an important role in strengthening the Foundation’s strategic direction and long-term sustainability,” the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation said in a statement.
The Foundation added that her contribution continues to support its mission, guiding its work and helping expand opportunities for the communities it serves.
The honorary doctorate recognises not only Mahanyele-Dabengwa’s outstanding contribution to business but also her dedication to social impact, leadership, and philanthropy. She serves as a member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
“We are honoured to benefit from her guidance and celebrate this well-deserved recognition with her,” the Foundation said.
Mahanyele-Dabengwa has been at the helm of Naspers South Africa since 2019, having previously held senior roles at Shanduka Group and as CEO of the South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL). She is widely regarded as one of the country’s most influential business leaders.
The Central University of Technology, based in Bloemfontein, confers honorary doctorates on individuals who have made exceptional contributions to business, society, or academia.
