The V&A Waterfront has announced the appointment of Graham Wood as CEO designate following a thorough search both locally and internationally. Wood, who previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Sun International, will take over from David Green, who is set to retire in early 2026.

During Green’s impressive 17-year tenure, the V&A Waterfront became Africa’s most popular tourist destination and a standout example of successful public-private partnerships. His leadership helped the Waterfront achieve numerous milestones, solidifying its status in the region.

Bringing extensive experience in the property, hospitality, and tourism sectors, Wood has held significant roles at both Sun International and Southern Sun. He played a crucial part in revitalising the Sun City resort and enhancing the profitability of various hotels and casinos.

The board is optimistic that Wood will build upon the solid foundation laid by Green, guiding the Waterfront into its next phase of growth and innovation. This transition aims to benefit not only the people of Cape Town and South Africa but also the international tourism market, ensuring a bright future for this iconic destination.
