Ericsson has announced that Sandile Dhlomo will be the new head of their South African operations, starting from 1 September 2025. He is an experienced professional with over 20 years working in telecommunications and digital technology across Africa. His career includes leadership roles in countries like Algeria, Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana.

Dhlomo’s appointment highlights Ericsson’s intention to strengthen its presence in South Africa. He will report to Majda Lahlou Kassi, who is responsible for Ericsson’s West and Southern Africa regions. Dhlomo will also be part of the leadership team that makes key decisions for the region.

His main task will be to guide Ericsson’s local operations and strategic projects, helping the company modernise networks and promote digital transformation. The company has a long history of working with mobile operators and businesses in South Africa, and Dhlomo’s role will be to build on this legacy.

Ericsson’s regional leader emphasised how important South Africa is for the company’s growth plans. She believes Dhlomo’s deep understanding of the local market and his leadership skills will be vital in achieving the company’s ambitions.

Dhlomo expressed his excitement about his new role, recognising the country’s huge potential for digital growth. He aims to focus on driving innovation, creating value for customers, and supporting South Africa’s digital journey. His vision aligns with Ericsson’s goal to promote sustainable digital development across Africa.

In summary, Dhlomo’s appointment marks a new chapter for Ericsson in South Africa. With his extensive experience and leadership, the company hopes to accelerate technological progress and unlock new opportunities for digital growth in the country.
